FIFA to try out chips

FIFA is considering using microchips in footballs at the 2006 World Cup in Germany. This will help match officials confirm whether the ball crossed the goal line or not. The implementation of these microchips will depend on the tests that will be carried out at the under-17 world cup at Peru in September and October. I wonder how this chip will work. What if the part of the ball that doesn’t have the chip crosses the line? Will there be many chips all over the ball? Will they ask Roberto Carlos to go easy on the ball? Hopefully these questions will be answered soon.
